Monster-Sized Barack Obama Update

Wow, I've got a ton of Obama stuff to pass along! The past few days have been very, very full of BO. Let's get to it!

First, how about some endorsements? The latest include such wonderful people as
Fidel Castro and ACORN, the group that regularly gets indicted for voter fraud. While the Castro thing probably isn't something Obama would have chosen, it appears there is a deeper connection between him and ACORN than he would like you to think. Specifically, Barack Obama has been heavily involved with training ACORN leaders as far back as 1992. You know, it's one thing to have crazy people endorse you. It's entirely another to have long-term well-established relationships with numerous terrorists, Communists, and radical anti-American groups. When do small incidents start adding up to accurate trends? I'd say we passed that point with Barack Obama months ago. It's amazing how one of Obama's biggest problems is that he keeps getting praise from America's enemies.

Hmmm...it seems like there may be some dots to connect around here...

Anyway, speaking of Communists, there is more investigation being done on that front, too. Both
OneNewsNow.com and WorldNetDaily have run stories in recent weeks about one of Obama's mentors while he was going to school in Hawaii. Frank Marshall Davis is a known Stalinist and a member of the Communist Party USA, and was apparently a great influence on Obama's life. Barack even acknowledged having a close mentor named 'Frank' in his own book, so it's not exactly a secret. How about another anti-American connection? Not only does billionaire America-hater George Soros fund many groups like ACORN (which support Obama) with millions of dollars each year, but Soros and Obama have a personal connection, as well. And, don't forget about Obama's friend and fundraiser Tony Rezko, who just received another federal warrant for owing $800,000 to various Las Vegas casinos.

What were we saying about trends...?

Sadly, many people will
pay no attention to the facts. But hopefully we can get those facts to enough others that this associate of terrorists and anti-American radicals will not occupy the White House in November.

Let's shift gears a bit and look at some policy issues. First, we have the question of whether or not
size matters...in our enemies, of course. One of Obama's latest gaffes included a trivialization of some of the most dangerous nations in the world because their defense budgets were so much smaller than ours. Does that really matter? Really? Does anyone recall how a handful of terrorists were able to kill 3,000 Americans with a couple of box cutters? The assertion that size matters is completely ridiculous, and helps underscore the point that he is really unequipped to occupy the Oval Office. And what about his views on the military? He wants to be Commander-in-Chief, yet he has a long history of disdaining our military. Ben Shapiro reports:

Does disdain for the military matter anymore? If Barack Obama's candidacy is any indication, it does not.

Sen. Obama gave a graduation speech at Wesleyan University on Sunday, May 25. In it, he praised students for their public service. He also asked them to forego the business world in favor of careers in public service.

"I ask you to seek these opportunities when you leave here, because the future of this country -- your future -- depends on it. At a time when our security and moral standing depend on winning hearts and minds in the forgotten corners of this world, we need more of you to serve abroad. As president, I intend to grow the Foreign Service, double the Peace Corps over the next few years, and engage the young people of other nations in similar programs, so that we work side by side to take on the common challenges that confront all humanity."

Notice anything missing in that list of public service jobs Obama will push? How about the men and women who protect us abroad?

Obama's brash omission of servicemen and women shouldn't be a surprise. After all, this is the man who stated in February 2007, "We ended up launching a war (in Iraq) that should have never been authorized and should have never been waged, and to which we have now spent $400 billion and has seen over 3,000 lives of the bravest young Americans wasted."

This is the man who employed Demond Mullins, a radical ex-Marine who has slandered the troops as adulterers and murderous occupiers. This is the man who, in August 2007, remarked, "We've got to get the job done [in Afghanistan] and that requires us to have enough troops so that we're not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous pressure over there."

How do you think he's going to handle our military if he actually controls it?

In general, Barack Obama doesn't offer anything new as far as policy goes. Despite his shiny new appearance,
he's the same old liberal re-tread that has been bashing America for decades. Even the Washington Post has figured that out [emphasis mine]:

Already famous for his speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, Barack Obama entered the Senate with more than the usual aspirations about the impact he could have.

So in 2005, he had his office arrange informal seminars so that experts on health care, the economy, energy and education could brief him. "I'm not running for president," he told a group of experts at his Capitol Hill office in the spring of 2006. But he said he had a "national voice" and wanted to use it.

When Obama changed his mind and decided to run for president after only two years in the Senate, however, he
effectively dismissed the importance of policy proposals, declaring in one speech in early 2007, "We've had plenty of plans, Democrats," and in another: "Every four years, somebody trots out a white paper, they post it on the Web." He cast his "new kind of politics" in terms of his ability to transcend divisions and his unique biography and offered few differences on issues from Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and the other Democratic presidential candidates.

As I've been saying for months, Barack Obama is nothing new; he's just a new package that has enraptured the masses of blind Democrat followers. He is going to be challenged on those policy differences if he locks up the nomination; there will be enormous differences between him and McCain, so he'll have to gear up eventually. Still, a liberal Dem is a liberal Dem is a liberal Dem. They want to increase government, take away your freedom, tax you out the wazoo, and blame America for everything from world envy to global warming.

Now, how about Michelle? Some have pondered in recent weeks whether Michelle Obama is fair game for critiques. You may remember when Barack warned everyone to 'lay off' Michelle because he was the one running for office, not her. But, there's just one problem with that - she's making herself
fair game. He admits that she is one of his closest key advisers, so her opinion makes a difference to him. In fact, he has previously stated that he relies on her 'sound judgment' above all others. If Karl Rove deserves scrutiny for his role in Bush's administration, Michelle Obama deserves the same treatment. Even more than that, though, is the fact that she has been actively campaigning for her husband, making policy speeches and statements. That's an official spokeswoman, and that's someone who is open to criticism. Deal with it.

There has also been speculation that Barack Obama is the next Jimmy Carter.
Little Green Footballs notes a Time story that makes the connection:

Of the two likely nominees this year, Obama is closest to Carter in background and policy leanings. The parallels between his campaign so far and the one Carter ran in 1976 are striking. Like Carter, Obama had little national experience when he started to run. Neither was given much chance of winning the nomination. Instead of running on a detailed platform, Carter told crowds that what Washington needed was "a government as good as its people"—just as Obama promises "change we can believe in." Carter's message sold well after Richard Nixon's disgrace, and press accounts from the time suggest that people found the born-again Carter to be charismatic. That parallel is a promising one for Obama.

And a disastrous one for the American people. Does anyone remember the misery index? Rampant inflation? Long lines at gas stations and high gas prices? The Iranians taking hostages at the U.S. embassy? Jimmy Carter was one of the worst Presidents in history, and we're potentially going to elect another incompetent doofus just like him??

There's a rumor of a bombshell waiting to explode on the Obama campaign: a rant of Michelle herself going on and on about 'whitey'.
TexasFred has compiled several links which seem to be more than coincidence. Right Truth offers some speculation that it may simply be a matter of pronunciation on a rant about President Bush: 'why did he' rather than 'whitey'. I'm sure we'll find out more in the coming days. Even if it's not the racial rant, it's still a loaded issue, with a potential First Lady accusing her husband's predecessor of a wide array of evils. A classy lady Michelle is not.

As if Rev. Jeremiah Wright wasn't bad enough, here's another racist pastor that Barack Obama has known for 20 decades:
Father Michael Pfleger. He was, until recently, featured on Obama's website as a spiritual adviser. Just days ago, Pfleger took the podium at Obama's church in Chicago and did his best Jeremiah Wright hate-America racist imitation:

Whew! That's some hate. Of course, Barack Obama had no idea Pfleger held such views - he's shocked, shocked about what Pfleger said over the weekend. Never mind that he clearly knew the man for years, even obtaining hundreds of thousands of dollars in earmarks for him. Apparently, there's a new video out there now where Pfleger is saying that America is the greatest sin against God.

Where does Obama find these guys? Oh yeah, he goes to church with them.

Not surprisingly, Obama has now committed a political bus-throwing:
he quit Trinity. LGF points out that the MSM is covering the story as usual, leaving out the fact that although Obama 'left' the church, he really didn't denounce it or its teachings.

That's because he really does believe those things being spouted by Wright and Pfleger. He sat there in that church, listening to that teaching for 20 years. Are we really supposed to believe that he is just now realizing the error of his ways? Come on, be real. The only logical conclusion is that those racist hate-filled preachers reflect Barack Obama's true beliefs (or he reflects theirs); he's just doing the politically convenient thing at the moment by distancing himself from them to calm the storm out there in his American schlub voter base.

This is Barack Obama, the likely Democrat presidential candidate.

There's my two cents.
