A Senate committee today abruptly canceled a session to consider President Obama's nomination of Rep. Hilda Solis to be labor secretary in the wake of a report saying that her husband yesterday paid about $6,400 to settle tax liens against his business -- including liens that had been outstanding for as long as 16 years.
While this is peanuts in comparison with the tab rung up by the likes of Daschle and Geithner, it's still the same problem: tax dodging. Amazing how those old tax debts got paid the day before her hearing, isn't it?
Hot Air offers the following commentary:
That makes 25% of Obama's original Hope and Change Cabinet picks comprised by tax evaders. Add that to the fourth scandal of Bill Richardson's pay-for-play federal grand jury investigation, and we have a full-blown vetting disaster. And that doesn't even count new Attorney General Eric Holder's politicization of Justice ten years ago on behalf of Bill Clinton in the FALN and Marc Rich pardons, or the dozen-plus lobbyists hired by the President Who Hates Lobbyists.
How embarrassing has Obama become?
Even the Kool-Aid can't hide this sort of thing forever!
You know, it's one thing to be proven right about Obama's incompetence and shady associations, but where did we cross the line from simply being right about him to things just getting ridiculous?
HOPE! CHANGE!
There's my two cents.
