Biden: America Is Losing Again

It's no secret that essentially every leading Democrat came out against Bush during the Iraq War.  We saw Democrats push dozens of votes in Congress to force a premature withdrawal (i.e. surrender).  We heard a continuous gleeful (not to mention sickening) tally of soldier deaths.  Democrats made statements like 'this war is lost' and 'we can't just keep air-raiding villages and killing civilians' (refresh your memory here and here if you need a couple examples).  Despite all that, President Bush held firm, and won the Iraq War, much to the Democrats' dismay.

Now, it looks like the Democrats have picked up their America-must-lose mantra again:

"The deteriorating situation in the region poses a security threat not just to the United States but to every single nation round this table," [Vice-President Joe] Biden told representatives of the 26-country military pact during a visit to Brussels.

"We are not now winning the war..."

To his credit, he did say that the war was not completely lost.  But, just once, it would be nice to have some Democrat leaders somewhere sometime actually speak positively about our military, don't you think?  I know, I know...wishful thinking.

It's a sad commentary on the state of American politics that only one of the two major parties wants victory, even when their own guys are in charge of the military.

There's my two cents.
