This Explains A Lot

I heard about this on one of our local radio stations this morning and thought it explained a lot.

You've heard of Twitter, yes?  It's that free online service where you can send 'tweets' from your PC or cellphone that broadcasts what you're doing at any given moment, and people can follow your every move.  It's become all the rage lately, even for politicians, so it is perhaps understandable that President Obama wants some advice from the Twitter geniuses:

On Friday, 20 "young business leaders" are headed to the White House  to discuss the economic crisis. Among those leaders are investor and former Googler Chris Sacca and Twitter co-founder Evan Williams...

Why does that explain a lot? you may be asking.  Let's put this distinguished White House visit into context.  The following was published at New York Magazine on Feb. 8 right below the headline of the story:

Sure, the Twitter guys still have no idea how to make money off their fabulous invention. But for now they are living in a dreamworld of infinite possibilities, maybe the last one on Earth.

[***Double take***]

Did you catch that?  'The Twitter guys have no idea how to make money off their fabulous invention'...?!  And yet, Obama wants their input on the current economic crisis?!

Explains a lot, doesn't it?

There's my two cents.
