And, of course, the latest two-headed outrage from Speaker Nancy Pelosi:
Oh, really? Swastikas? Prove your accusation, Madam Speaker: find one and show it to the world. And good luck with that, because all those swastika-bearers don't exist on our side of the aisle.
But she wasn't done yet - don't forget this, either (emphasis mine):
'Un-American'?! Seems like it hasn't been very long since this:In the meantime, as members of Congress spend time at home during August, they are talking with their constituents about reform. The dialogue between elected representatives and constituents is at the heart of our democracy and plays an integral role in assuring that the legislation we write reflects the genuine needs and concerns of the people we represent.
However, it is now evident that an ugly campaign is underway not merely to misrepresent the health insurance reform legislation, but to disrupt public meetings and prevent members of Congress and constituents from conducting a civil dialogue. These tactics have included hanging in effigy one Democratic member of Congress in Maryland and protesters holding a sign displaying a tombstone with the name of another congressman in Texas, where protesters also shouted "Just say no!" drowning out those who wanted to hold a substantive discussion.
These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American.
As aggravating as the shrieking was, Hillary Clinton was correct: we do, in fact, have a Constitutional right to disagree and debate with any administration, even Obama's. But, what the Obama administration and the current Democrats in charge are doing right now is to attack every American citizen who isn't willing to toe the liberal Democrat line, plain and simple. Those who disagree must be silenced.
Not only is Obamacare a despicable perversion of the health care system on its own merits, but it is also the shining symbol of how the Left seeks to gain control over everyone in America, and how they will rule with an iron fist once they have it.
Get on the phone to your elected representatives. Tell them this must not be allowed.
There's my two cents.
