Lying To God Is Risky Business

Consider these wholly, totally, completely, absolutely unrelated stories...

Story #1: Obama wants God's help on Obamacare despite being the most pro-death President ever

Remember when Obama thought that questions of religious import were "above my pay grade"? Or when the left thought that an American president shouldn't presume to act on behalf of the Lord? Not any more:

In a morning conference call with about 1000 rabbis from across the nation, Obama asked for aid: "I am going to need your help in accomplishing necessary reform," the President told the group, according to Rabbi Jack Moline, who tweeted his way through the phoner.

"We are God's partners in matters of life and death," Obama went on to say, according to Moline's real-time stream.

So if Obama's on God's team, which team is the other 54 percent of Americans on?

Story #2: Pretending not to be the most pro-death President ever and getting nailed for it by one's own track record
[T]oday Barack Obama told American rabbis that we are partners in life and death.
Unreal.

Already this year, Barack Obama has signed several pieces of abortion legislation including funding foreign abortions. He also signed legislation to use taxpayer money to kill embryos in research. And, democrats are pushing legislation that will force healthcare providers to perform abortions even if it violates their moral or religious convictions.

Barack Obama is the most radical pro-abortion and infanticide president in the last 35 years. Barack Obama even voted 4 times to support infanticide during his political career.

The Vatican already attacked "arrogant" Barack Obama for using taxpayer money to fund foreign abortions.

Story #3: Lying about the latest example of being the most pro-death President ever to a group of godly people
In response to the direct question posed about abortion funding, Melody Barnes, director of Obama’s Domestic Policy Council, provided what appeared to be a deliberately misleading response...

With respect to abortion funding, Barnes replied, “You know, I’ve heard lots and lots of rumors about what the bills do or don’t do. I really want to be clear about this. The president has said that it’s longstanding policy that federal funds won’t be used for abortion coverage. Health reform, and our health reform efforts, are not intended to force Americans to purchase health insurance that includes coverage they don’t want, and they should be able to purchase coverage that reflects their values and basic needs. And it’s not intended to reduce insurance coverage that Americans already have. “

The difficulty with Barnes’s response is that it does not address the substance of the specific concern raised by the U.S. bishops, in recent public statements warning that the health-care reform bills currently before Congress leave the door open for taxpayer funding for those Americans who opt for public insurance plans that include abortion services.

Story #4: God's response...?
Obama leaves for Martha's Vineyard this weekend -- a visit that may coincide with the arrival of [hurricane] Bill:

Hmmm...

There's my two cents.
