Communists infiltrate CA Obamacare protests
These are the same people who showed up in Michigan, too. I wonder where else they've been. But there's no astroturfing here, folks, nuh-uh.
Funny thing about that, though. All those crazies saying Obama is like Hitler, and holding up Nazi posters? Ultra-leftists who want single-payer health care. The media would know that if they bothered to do their jobs and ask a few questions. Steve Gutowski did:
So did John McCormack:
The Left's official astroturfing organization, Organizing for America, is misleading constituents into thinking they actually have a one-on-one meeting with their Congressmen:
…some constituents took the follow-up email to mean that they had a hard-and-fast scheduled meeting with their members of Congress, and around 100 such people showed up at Feinstein’s offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles, Feinstein spokesperson Gil Duran says. The visitors got upset when they learned they didn’t have a scheduled meeting, Duran says, adding that Feinstein’s office “expressed their concerns” to the White House.Apparently more than a few thought they personally had their Congressman's ear. It's refreshing to see the Democrats lie to their own constituents right alongside the rest of us, isn't it?
Speaking of lying to one's own, guess who Obama just officially screwed? His buddies, Big Pharma:
Just two days ago the pharmaceutical industry thought they cut a deal with Obama to have to fork over "only" $80 billion in cost savings. In return they would be left alone and even toss in $150 million in commercials supporting Obamacare.
Well, Obama wants to alter the terms of the deal and the drug makers can only pray he doesn't alter it too much.
"In terms of savings for you as a Medicare recipient," President Obama told a town hall attendee yesterday, "the biggest (change) is on prescription drugs, because the prescription drug companies have already said that they would be willing to put up $80 billion in rebates for prescription drugs as part of a health care reform package."Then the president said, "Now, we may be able to get even more than that.”
So, these drug companies agreed to throw $150 million into the propaganda machine to endorse Obamacare because Obama said he'd only hit them for $80 billion. Until he changed his mind and threw them under the bus, too. Is anyone really surprised that a Democrat is hostile to Big Pharma? How anyone is still willing to trust anything that comes out of this man's mouth is a mystery to me.
Hey, do you remember that pledge, promise, and sworn testimony that abortions wouldn't be covered under Obamacare? Guess what:
Doh! Now the cat's out of the bag. As if we didn't know already.
Anyway, since the efforts to bring in union thugs to intimidate real grass roots citizens has failed, Dems have now apparently just given up all pretenses at legitimate representation and started having their town hall meetings at the actual union office. And at a union office located several miles outside the jurisdiction, no less. What could possibly be the problem with that?
But here's where it goes beyond parody. Democrat Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee had a town hall, but it was apparently too much of a bother to pay much attention to her constituents:
The whole thing is good, but if you have just 20 seconds to watch, skip forward to the 4:35 mark, where Jackson-Lee actually takes a cell phone call while a constituent is asking a question...! Oh, and by the way, Jackson-Lee used a plant, too. Roxana Mayer posed as a doctor at the town hall and had some wonderfully peachy things to say about Obamacare, but in reality she's a student at the University of Houston, and an Obama delegate. Oh, and the Houston Chronicle failed to check out those insignificant facts in their report on the whole thing. Naturally; to check out and report the truth would just ruin the rhetorical feng-shui of the event, wouldn't it?
But she's not the only one to show extreme arrogance toward protesters. Rep. James Clyburn actually falls asleep while his constituents are talking to him:
The bottom line is that Obama, the Democrats, and the media are doing their damnedest to make it sounds like anyone who opposes Obamacare is a racist Nazi mobster, but the reality is that anyone resembling that description is actually on Obama's side. Obama and the Dems are lying, deceiving, and misrepresenting every aspect of this debate -- on the odd instances where a debate is even allowed -- to hide their true motivations. Open expressions of condescension, arrogance, and rudeness are commonplace from the Left. You've seen them yourself.
And it's starting to show. Support for Obamacare is still eroding, and the all-important Independent category is really sliding fast. The efforts to demonize Obamacare protesters isn't working:
That's right. Because the American people are smarter than members of Congress, more responsible than members of Congress, better informed than members of Congress, and have a far superior grasp of what's at stake and what's going on than members of Congress give them credit for.In a survey of 1,000 adults taken Tuesday, 34% say the sometimes heated protests at sessions held by members of Congress have made them more sympathetic to the protesters’ views; 21% say they are less sympathetic.
Independents by 2-1, 35%-16%, say they are more sympathetic to the protesters now.
The findings are bad news for President Obama and Democratic congressional leaders, who have scrambled to respond to town halls marked by aggressive questions and noisy demonstrations by those opposed to plans to overhaul the health care system…
The question is: when will Congress start listening?
There's my two cents.
