Key Updates: Birth Certificate, Khalidi Video

We have an update on two critical issues that almost certainly would have a disastrous effect on Barack Obama's presidential hopes.  First is the birth certificate kerfuffle.  If you're not familiar with the background, read here first.  Now, for the update, from WorldNetDaily:

Although the legitimacy of Sen. Barack Obama's birth certificate has become a focus of intense speculation – and even several lawsuits – WND has learned that Hawaii's Gov. Linda Lingle has placed the candidate's birth certificate under seal and instructed the state's Department of Health to make sure no one in the press obtains access to the original document under any circumstances.

The governor's office officially declined a request made in writing by WND in Hawaii to obtain a copy of the hospital-generated original birth certificate of Barack Obama.

"It does not appear that Dr. Corsi is within any of these categories of persons with a direct and tangible interest in the birth certificate he seeks," wrote Roz Makuala, manager of constituent services in the governor's office, in an e-mailed response to a WND request seeking the information.

Those listed as entitled to obtain a copy of an original birth certificate include the person born, or "registrant" according to the legal description from the governor's office, the spouse or parent of the registrant, a descendant of the registrant, a person having a common ancestor with the registrant, a legal guardian of the registrant, or a person or agency acting on behalf of the registrant.

WND was told the official reason for denial of access to Obama's birth certificate would be authority granted pursuant to Section 338-18 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, a provision the anonymous source claimed was designed to prevent identity theft.

Still, the source told WND confidentially the motivation for withholding the original birth certificate was political, although the source refused to disclose whether there was any information on the original birth certificate that would prove politically embarrassing to Obama.

Though this stinks to the sky of a cover-up -- has anyone heard about how his deathly ill grandmother is doing now? also, it's amazing how his birth certificate was locked away right after he arrived, isn't it? -- there is no available proof, so at this point it looks like Obama has won this one.  Without documented proof of his birth certificate (and no, he has NOT yet provided it - read the background link above if you think that), the case for his standing as a 'natural born citizen' is more or less reduced to speculation.  Some think that Obama has successfully applied the 'Chicago way' to the Governor of Hawaii.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if it came out after Obama took office...would we see an impeachment?  Would there be any other course of action that would legally be possible?  Would the Dems throw him under the bus, or would they risk brand destruction by standing by an illegal President?  Would the country demand accountability, or would they see it as water under the bridge?  It's an intriguing thought, and I have no idea how it would play out.  We may find out, and we may not.  Time will tell.

Just a couple thoughts along those lines (if we assume Obama wins next Tuesday).  First, we might get an indication of this fraud if Obama moves to do anything about citizenship status that might affect him retroactively; we might also get a hint if Lingle suddenly achieves some notoriety in the Democrat party.  Keep in mind, Obama has made some noises about supporting a new government within the state of Hawaii that could eventually lead to complete independence, and that's supposed to be a pretty popular idea there.  For Lingle to be the one to accomplish that would make her an historic figure.  Just a wild and crazy thought.  Second, for all of you who love to ominously pose the question of Sarah Palin being a 'heartbeat away' from the Presidency, I suggest you consider the question of Joe 'Gaffe Machine' Biden being one lawsuit away from the Presidency.  Kinda' scary to think about him carrying on high-level negotiations with foreign dictators, isn't it?  The guy loses verbal control every time a microphone is waved in his direction.

The next update is just as politically radioactive: the Obama-Ayers-Khalidi-Israel-Bashing video.  Again, if you're not familiar with this, check out the background info here first.  Basically, the LA Times is refusing to release a video that allegedly shows Barack Obama, Bill Ayers, and Rashid Khalidi at a party where Israel-bashing is conducted by Palesinian terrorist sympathizers.  The Times covered the event, but refuses to release the video, despite increasing demands from the McCain campaign and numerous news organizations.  Little Green Footballs posts a tip from a reader about the content of that video:

Doug Ross has received a tip from a reader he says has been reliable in the past, with some inside information on the videotape that the Los Angeles Times continues to hide:

Saw a clip from the tape. Reason we can't release it is because statements Obama said to rile audience up during toast. He congratulates Khalidi for his work saying "Israel has no God-given right to occupy Palestine" plus there's been "genocide against the Palestinian people by Israelis."

It would be really controversial if it got out. Tha's why they will not even let a transcript get out.

Caveat: I can't vouch for the accuracy of this. However, it certainly would explain why the LA Times is suppressing the video.

Once again, this is just speculation and rumor without the tape as proof.  However, this would go a long way toward explaining why the Times is desperate to keep this tape hidden, since they have officially endorsed Obama.  If this is true, it could destroy his support among Jews, and it would also turn off a whole lot of other people who are generally opposed to terrorist-related activities and hate-Israel parties.  The Times is not giving up the goods, but things have gotten interesting:

$150,000 has been offered for the tape that LA Times has of Barack apparently in agreement with Khaladi's anti-semitic remarks

I did a google seach on the person that is offering the money - Astin Germaldi and his company. Germaldi works for Dune Capital Holdings. The group is shown as supporting Barack Obama.

So, there are big bucks to be had for someone willing to sell out.  This alone makes it look pretty obvious that the video is just as damning as the speculation suggests.  Otherwise, why would Obama be willing to make someone rich to keep it hidden?

The verdict is still out on this one.

One final thought.  Let's look at the big perspective again for a moment.  If Obama was really a new kind of politician who is above the fray and who transcends politics, why the need for so much damage control?  Why are there so many damaging videos, audio clips, and associations from which Obama has to run, spin, and hide?  This is a pattern, and as such should be considered as a pattern when evaluating his readiness, ability, and worthiness to hold the office of the most powerful man in the world.

Six days and counting...

There's my two cents.
