The short version: revolts are continuing to break to out all over because the American people don't want Obamacare and don't like how Washington is treating the rest of the nation. The anti-protester rhetoric is ramping up, with accusations of astroturfing being conducted on a nationwide scale. If you're unfamiliar with the term, it's basically the deliberate faking of a grass roots movement. Think about it as rent-a-mobs. Of course, what is happening all over the country now is not astroturfing, but a legitimate uprising in the grass roots of Reps, Dems, and Indies alike. Ironically, the creator of the concept of astroturfing is a man named David Axelrod. Remember him? He was Obama's principle speech writer during the campaign, and one of his top advisers now. Coincidence, I'm sure.
Speaker Pelosi is now talking about the opposition as proudly displaying swastikas. Of course, there's been no such thing, unless you look at liberal Leftist protests against things like George W. Bush:

But alas, memory is such a selective thing, isn't it? Once again, we see that the Left tells us what it is doing by accusing the Right of doing those same things (even though the Right is not).
Anyway, here's another great example of a calm 'mob' of protesters shredding the Obamacare sycophants at an AARP meeting in Dallas:
Notice the Obamacare proponents conducting the 'listening session' can't answer the mobster-type complaints, so they decide to leave. Here's another example that is absolutely nonsensically braindead from Rep. Frank Kratovil in Maryland, in response to a question from a young boy about whether or not his grandfather -- a vet -- will get the health care he needs:
What does suicide have to do with the question?! If this is the mental place to which Kratovil goes when considering old people and health care, I'd say the American people need to start paying real close attention! He obviously can't (or won't) address the substance of the question. And, by the way, despite the most strenuous assertions by the Left that these protests are funded and organized by eeeeeevil insurance companies, not a single insurance rep could be found at this event. It's a shock, I know.
Anyway, the Democrats are so petrified of these videos that are popping up all over the place proving they don't have a clue what they're doing other than screwing We The People that they're doing everything they can to avoid these town hall meetings without looking like they're avoiding them. For example, some are now trying to conduct telephone conference calls where they control who is invited and who is allowed to speak. Some are calling last-minute town halls so there isn't enough time for large crowds to gather. Some are saying they'll be there and then sending staffers. It's shameful, really.
All of this points out the fact that Dems are getting desperate. And that, in turn, leads to the almost inevitable conclusion: thuggery.
Barack Obama sent out the call to his best and most loyal subjects -- the unions -- for help today, perpetrating the very same astroturfing he's accusing the Right of doing:
The DNC has also recruited labor goons to police the town halls. And they are officially getting organized about it, too:
The Huffington Post reported, via LG Links:The nation's largest federation of labor organizations has promised to directly engage with boisterous conservative protesters at Democratic town halls during the August recess.
In a memo sent out on Thursday, AFL-CIO President John Sweeney outlined the blueprint for how the union conglomerate would step up recess activities on health care reform and other topics pertinent to the labor community. The document makes clear that Obama allies view the town hall forums as ground zero of the health care debate. It also uses the specter of the infamous 2000 recount "Brooks Brothers" protest to rally its members to the administration's side.
"The principal battleground in the campaign will be town hall meetings and other gatherings with members of Congress in their home districts," reads the memo. "We want your help to organize major union participation to counter the right-wing "Tea-Party Patriots" who will try to disrupt those meetings, as they've been trying to do to meetings for the last month. ...
This, of course, is a dangerous development, since union thugs have already been caught on tape breaking the law and then getting off scott free in the Era of Obama. Even before that, they resorted to violence when they didn't get their way. And the White House has given a fairly clear green light on violence at these town hall meetings:‘Health Care For America Now’ released a memo on August 4th entitled - Responding To Right Wing Attacks. Must Read. The AFL-CIO announced that is joining their effort and is urging other unions to join as well. They are planning a thirty day counterattack at townhall meetings to disrupt “tea-bagger” efforts. There is little doubt the unions are being mobilized to intimidate and harass. Must Read.
Their macro-national strategy is to ridicule the anti-Obamacare protesters and turn them into a mockery. True to form, the mainstream media is carrying water for Obama and his acolytes and perpetuating this line of attack.
Now, there will be real thugs, real mobs, and real organized paid operatives on the scene. The mainstream media will no doubt turn a blind eye towards the origins, motives and transgressions of these Left wing activists. But we must persevere through this hot, simmering, August recess and fight on.
As a result, I suspect we'll see a lot more video documentation of all of these events, just for protection's sake. Still, knowing the Left's desperation to paint Obamacare opponents as 'mobs', and knowing the unions' history for outright violent thuggery, and knowing Obama's open refusal to crack down on them...well, it doesn't take much imagination to see what would happen.Top White House aides gave Senate Democrats a recess battle plan on Thursday, arming the lawmakers with tips for avoiding disastrous town hall meetings while showing them polling on popular aspects of the reform effort…
They showed video clips of the confrontational town halls that have dominated the media coverage, and told senators to do more prep work than usual for their public meetings by making sure their own supporters turn out, senators and aides said.
And they screened TV ads and reviewed the various campaigns by critics of the Democratic plan.
“If you get hit, we will punch back twice as hard,” Messina said, according to an official who attended the meeting…
“They are just helping us understand the fringe that is trying to mess up our meetings,” said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.).
Instead of appearing in person, where “extremists” would have “the chance to shout and make YouTube videos,” Baird said Wednesday, he’s holding what he calls “telephone town halls” instead.
Baird said he’s using the new system because he fears his political opponents may be planning “an ambush” to disrupt his meetings, using methods Baird compared to Nazism.
“What we’re seeing right now is close to Brown Shirt tactics,” Baird, D-Vancouver, said in a phone interview. “I mean that very seriously.”…
And indeed it did. Tampa, Florida:
The toll: “At least one fistfight” plus “shoving and scuffles.” No word on who started it, how many people were involved, etc, but if the left can turn a memo sent to 10 people by a guy who’s not even a Republican into a nationwide GOP astroturfing conspiracy, surely it can turn some chanting and a fistfight into Kristallnacht. Here's a video of local coverage:
Gateway Pundit has more:
An anti-Obamacare protester was slapped by a Leftist supporter of socialized health care at a town hall in Florida today:But the union thuggery was elsewhere, too. Everything about this town hall in St. Louis is just wrong, wrong, wrong:
Karen Miracle pushes Barry Osteen, right, who was debating her husband, Garry. “We have the best health care system in the world and I’m completely happy with what we have,” Osteen said. (TampaBay.com)
Obviously, Karen the Leftist did not agree.
Michelle Malkin noted that its not a coincidence that violence was reported at tea party protests tonight-- the same day that SEIU was recruited by Dems to quash the dissent to Obamacare.
Over 1,000 St. Louis Tea Party Taxpayers showed up at the Russ Carnahan town hall meeting in South St. Louis tonight. The 'mob' of about 1,000 Obamacare opponents broke out in patriotic songs as they stood outside, locked out of the town hall. But, that wasn't the end of it - by the end of the night, one person was seriously injured and six people were arrested.
They were Locked Out!
But... The Carnahan staff was sneaking in SEIU members in the side door marked "handicapped."
Here's the video:
When two SEIU members attempted to get in the same side door marked "handicapped" the crowd went nuts and blocked them at the door. Did you notice how nonchalant the SIEU members were about getting inside the door? Like they knew right where to go.
The thug tactics coming from the White House have gotten so obviously sewer-like that even dyed-in-the-wool Obot Claire-bear McCaskill is backing away from the administration. Now that's bad!
I'll leave you with this reminder from Hot Air:
They can pass any bill they want any time they want. Conservatives can scream their heads off at these things and there’s not an ounce of good it’ll do if Democrats are united. This whole partisan “war” Obama and Axelrod have concocted is kabuki theater against an enemy they’ve already (momentarily) defeated; it’s the Blue Dogs’ fear that they’ll be thrown out of office if they vote for this travesty that’s put the left in the predicament they’re in. The cowardice they’re showing in not wanting to face their constituents is actually obscuring the deeper cowardice of the the party stalling on a landmark bill they finally have the numbers to pass for no better reason than that doing so will jeopardize their hold on power next year. They want ObamaCare and they want their permanent majority, and if the only way they can get both is by calling conservatives Nazis then that’s what they’re a-gonna do.This issue is becoming deadly serious. If you go to one of these, please be careful! Video everything, and please-please-please don't get drawn into any form of physical conflict at all. That is exactly what the Left wants, and it will play right into their propagandizing hands. Regardless, I'm afraid that the violence will escalate, and if that does happen, you can bet your last dollar that the White House, Congress, and the media will stop at nothing to portray the violence as being the result of the 'mobs' of conservative racist insurance-funded reform-hating hacks who are just bitter because they lost the last couple elections.
Bet on it.
This is a battle that we absolutely must win, and win by taking the high road. There is no alternative.
There's my two cents.
