Who Does America Trust?

Not the Democrats.

Note the dives on… everything, really, except immigration issues: the GOP increased its lead in 9 out of 10 categories since last month. But particularly note the Health Care, Social Security, Economy, and Taxes numbers. Does the Democratic Party feel like demonizing their opponents on health care rationing some more? - because I think that the GOP can somehow manage to find the strength to keep bearing up under the Democrats' scorn.

This is great news for us, obviously, especially as a potential indicator of what the 2010 elections may hold.  Of course, it's still a very long time until we get there, and a lot could -- and probably will -- change between now and then.  However, this isn't nearly enough to kill ObamaKennedyDeathCare and cap-n-tax, which are on the plate right now.  We cannot wait for another 12 months to combat Obama's radical Leftist agenda; by then it will be too late.  I think this article by Philip Klein really speaks to what I'm talking about (emphasis mine):

As I noted last week, a Pew poll found that only 56 percent of the public recognized that the "public option" had something vaguely to do with the issue of health care, while 11 percent thought it had to do with either banking regulation, unemployment, or energy policy -- and 33 percent wouldn't even wager a guess. What this tells me is that for a good chunk of the population, polling on the issue will largely depend on how the question is asked, because if only 56 percent know it has something to do with health care, it's probably even a smaller portion of the public that really understands what it's all about. So, in this case, the Washington Post asked the question in the most benign sounding way, as it is typically pitched by liberal supporters, "Would you support or oppose having the government create a new health insurance plan to compete with private health insurance plans?" In this case, the pollsters used the market-friendly term "compete" even though it's the subject of tremendous debate whether or not that competition could be fair. Back in June, the Post did another poll, which actually found even broader support for the government plan -- 62 percent. But in that poll, they asked a follow up question, "What if having the government create a new health insurance plan made many private health insurers go out of business because they could not compete?" After asking that, support dropped to 37 percent.

This is the key, and this is where you and I come in.  If only 56% of Americans can identify the phrase 'public option' -- one of the most outrageously controversial provisions in the debate -- with health care, it is a very safe assumption that the number of people who actually know both sides of the issue is far, far smaller.  Ignorance is killing this country.  Not stupidity, but simple ignorance - just not having enough knowledge to make an informed decision.  The simple act of spreading the truth to your friends and family is the single most effective thing you can do to combat Obama's radical Leftist agenda.  Just forward the links to this blog, or any of the other links on this page.  Send e-mails, talk to them, encourage them to dig in and do their own research and thinking.  The only possible chance we have to stop these measures is to generate such fervent and overwhelming opposition to these things that even Democrat members of Congress (remember, they have all the votes they need to pass anything they want...if they're all on board; the GOP is essentially irrelevant right now) fear YOUR electoral retribution more than the threats they are undoubtedly receiving from their radical Leftist leadership.  That's it.  That's why we've got to kill ignorance before it kills us, and get millions more people involved in this opposition.  Spread the word.

We have nothing to fear from the truth.  In fact, the truth is our absolute best defense on all of these major legislative and character issues that are re-making America into Obama's idea of utopia.  Don't be aggressive, but be confident.  Ignore the mainstream media - if you're a regular reader of this blog, you've seen more than enough examples of how they're nothing more than an echo chamber for Obama's White House.  Reject liberal premises when necessary, and refuse to be dragged into an emotional nitpick-fest that wanders into the nebulous realm of preference and belief.  Rely on the facts, point to history, and insist upon rational, logical thought.

We are in a battle over the soul and direction of America.  Our kids and grandkids will have to live with the results of the debates we are having right now.  As such, the stakes could not be higher.  Can we really settle for anything less than doing everything we can to spread the truth and fight for the principles we believe in?

There's my two cents.
