Now the bill goes back to the House. This is a bit of a crap deal for the House, because the Senate is probably going to go home for vacation, leaving the House with a take-it-or-leave-it choice. This translates into incredible pressure for House members to pass the bill, or be left holding 100% of the blame for not passing this legislation.

Given that the Democrats purposely tanked the first bailout bill (or at least didn't work at all to get it passed), this is probably going to pass easily unless the GOP grows a collective spine. It's the last ditch attempt to stop this biggest-in-history expansion of government, so call your Reps again and encourage them to amend the crap out of this bill or kill it altogether. And, when your Senator's next election rolls around, remember this vote...
