General Election Comparison

I believe that it is our responsibility to get informed about the candidates who seek to be our elected leaders. While the right to vote is one of the most precious we have in America, it is one that is a double edged sword: voting out of ignorance is perhaps even worse than not voting at all. Add to this the fact that the mainstream media has given up all but the flimsiest attempts at objective reporting of fact this year, and we have the makings of a disaster of ignorance on our hands when November 4th rolls around.

How do we avoid that? Through accurate information.

So, in an attempt to provide all of you with factual information on the biggest issues of this election and where the two candidates stand on those issues, here is a quick reference sheet that you may want to check out:

I have attempted to remain as neutral as possible on this sheet, simply summing up the candidates' positions without inserting any analysis or comments (my full-bore analysis and opinion on the two candidates will be posted in a separate message in the next couple days). If you just want a quick summary of the Presidential election in bullet points, this is for you.

If you find any factual errors in this spreadsheet, please send me an e-mail right away so I can modify it. In the interest of keeping it factual rather than argumentative, please include at least one reputable source to back up your suggestion. Keep in mind that these are summarized bullet points - there is not enough room to get into the nuances of policy here, so I reserve the right to grossly oversimplify complex issues to get the core correct.

Please feel free to send the link to this post to anyone you think might benefit from it. My goal is to get information out there so that Americans can judge for themselves who would best represent them.

There's my two cents.
