Palin Unleashed

The traditional role of the VP is the attack dog. As of last Thursday night's debate, Sarah Palin has apparently been unleashed to fill that role. Gateway Pundit has the entire roundup of new attacks.

1. At a recent rally in California, Palin said the following:
Just once it would be nice if [Obama] said he wanted our country to win...
Amen! When was the last time you heard any Democrat leader say anything nice or positive about America? Seriously, when was it? Stop and think. I actually can't recall anything since 9/11. Can you?

2. At a recent speech in Colorado, here she was again:
Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is accusing Democrat Barack Obama of "palling around with terrorists" for his association with a former 1960s radical.

Palin was referring to Bill Ayers, one of the founders of the group the Weather Underground. The group took credit for bombings, including nonfatal explosions at the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol four decades ago.

In remarks to GOP donors in Englewood, Colo., on Saturday, Palin said Obama seems to see the U.S. as being so imperfect that, in her words, "he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."
For the full details on this relationship that the media has either ignored or covered over, go here. If you're just now getting up to speed on the candidates, you simply cannot overlook this point. If this one relationship alone spreads to enough of middle America, Obama is done.

3. On a Fox interview, Palin says outright that Obama is reckless and unqualified to be President:

In case you're having a hard time believing what Obama said about U.S. troops air-raiding villages and killing civilians, go here. It's his own words. Do you think that's Commander-in-Chief material?

On a semi-related note, this should tell you how dependent Obama is on the teleprompter, especially when compared to McCain:

Now that many more eyes are on him, Obama knows he can't take any chances with foolish or anti-American statements (like the ones above), so he will probably not be without his teleprompter very much from here on out. Still, it's pathetic that he can't even congratulate his running mate on a debate without one.

Anyway, it's good to see Palin finally let loose a little bit. She is clearly the McCain campaign's single best strategy - she attracts crowds rivaling that of even the Obamessiah, she generates massive fundraising, she fires up the base, and she attracts new voters who simply like her and identify with her. We are now seeing that she is more than up to the task of playing the attack dog role, too. I have to admit that it's fun to watch her gash Obama and Biden with a wink and a smile - it drives them nuts!

Welcome to the big leagues, Governor Palin! We're glad you're here.

There's my two cents.
