Baucus Vapor 'Bill' Passes Major Hurdle

As expected, the Baucus version of ObamaKennedyDeathCare has been passed out of committee:

The Finance Committe has just voted its version of health care legislation out of committee by a 14 to 9 vote, with Olympia Snowe joining with every Democrat on the committee.

Some form of a health care bill has now cleared all five relevant committees in both chambers of Congress, but now the difficult task begins of reconciling some significant differences.

Apparently, Snowe explained her vote this way:

Is this bill all that I want? Far from it. Is it all that it can be? Far from it. But when history calls, history calls.

Um...what happens when history calls with bad news?  Are we still required to answer?  Were the Jews required to answer it when Hitler came to power?  How about all those Russians who were killed by Stalin, or the Chinese who suffered and died under Mao?  Is Snowe suggesting that all these people had to do to avoid genocidal death at the hands of a maniac was to simply not answer history's call?

People of Maine: why do you keep electing this moron?

Anyway, this is not unexpected.  As indicated above, now comes the uber-difficult task for the Democrat leadership to smash all the proposals together into one bill -- and remember, the Baucus 'bill' hasn't even been written yet...it's just the outline of a bill -- hide it from the American people, lock out the GOP, substitute their chosen union-helping, tax-raising, death panel-implementing, abortion-funding, Medicare-cutting, care-rationing language into a bill that has nothing to do with health care, and pass it before the CBO can score the actual language of the bill.

It's going to be a tough week for the Democrats.

There's my two cents.
