Upon hearing that the Baucus vapor 'bill' has been passed out of committee, here's what the Obamessiah had to say:

Um...okay. Obama's spokesman Gibbs later called it a 'bipartisan' bill. Remember, liberals define 'bipartisan' as agreement with them.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has this to say:
"At a time of nearly 10 percent unemployment, Americans don’t need higher taxes and higher health insurance premiums. And yet one thing that’s perfectly clear about the administration’s health care proposal is that it promises higher taxes on virtually everyone in America. He also predicts that it won't ever see the Senate floor:“Here’s the breakdown. Under this legislation, if you have insurance, you’re taxed. If you don’t have insurance, you’re taxed. If you use a medical device like a hearing aid, you’re taxed. If you take prescription drugs, you’re taxed. If you’re a business owner who can’t afford to provide coverage for your employees, you’re taxed. And the Joint Committee on Taxation and the CBO have both said that many of these taxes will hit the middle class hardest, at a time when unemployment stands at a 25-year high.
“Add all these up and you get a bill that raises taxes, raises premiums, and leads to more government control. You can call this many things, Mr. President. But it’s not what the vast majority of Americans would consider reform.
In the wake of the Senate Finance Committee's approval of the Baucus health-care bill, 14-9, with the help of key moderate Republican Olympia Snowe, McConnell emphasized that the bill that will be brought to the senate floor is being crafted by Senate and House leaders without input from the American public:
“Sen. Snowe called me this morning to let me know that while she continues to have serious, substantive policy reservations with this proposal, she wanted to keep the process moving. I share her concerns about the direction of this bill once it leaves the committee, and her call for transparency before we vote to proceed to any bill on the floor.
"The fact is, this proposal will never come before the Senate. But what we do know is that the bill written behind closed doors here in the Capitol will be another 1,000-page, trillion-dollar Washington takeover. We know it will slash a half-trillion dollars from seniors’ Medicare, add new taxes and raise premiums. That’s not reform.”
Exactly! It's not reform, it's a government takeover.
Here's yet another video showing what it's like in Canada:
That's just it - where will Americans go? We don't have a sane neighbor like Canada has had all these years.
Let's now look at some of the key points here. First of all, a clear majority of Americans still do not want ObamaKennedyDeathCare. That could be partly because the American people know it's going to be bad, bad news. One way it's bad news is that it'll clearly break Obama's promise not to raise any taxes on anyone earning less than $250,000 by 'one dime'. It's also bad news because the current doctor shortage will only get worse when millions more people are dumped into the system, and are given unlimited 'free' health care. It's not hard to figure out that's the inevitable result. There's also no way it'll reduce the deficit as Obama claims.
Let's examine that point a bit more, too. Basically, the Dems deliberately gamed the CBO's scoring system:
Some of the unrealistic assumptions made by Baucus:The CBO has very strict rules about how they "score" a bill. Most importantly, they have to score a bill -- or "conceptual language" in a non-bill, as we have here -- according to what is written therein, even if it's jackass.
In other words, if a bill claims that certain things are going to happen that the CBO knows with 95% confidence will never happen -- like Medicare payments being cut -- the CBO still has to pretend those cuts will happen, even though they know, as we all know, they almost certainly won't.
Their scoring methodology resembles a computer's "thinking" -- a computer doesn't think. It follows the rules it's been programmed to follow, no matter how stupid those rules might be. It has no common sense or judgment. The analysts at the CBO might have common sense and judgment, but they're stripped of that -- prevented from using that -- by the "code" of the program they follow, hard-wired into the system by law.
That means that it's not very hard to trick the CBO's "programming," just as it's no difficult feat to crash a computer. Garbage in, garbage out. And the Baucus bill is specifically designed to produce garbage, to get a "salable number" for the deficit.
And that number, while salable, is 100% false, by design.
- comparing 7 years of expenses versus 10 years of revenues
- a huge chunk of the federal health care costs are simply pushed off to states
- part of the revenue comes from taxes on high-end coverage, but rising costs will qualify many 'normal' plans as 'high-end', thus requiring higher taxes and raising costs, thus requiring higher taxes...etc.
- hundreds of billions of dollars in 'savings' come from Medicare cuts which won't happen
And it's not just the GOP - the CBO director himself agrees that the CBO rules were twisted by the Dems. The bottom line is that this plan will send the American economy off a cliff.
Remember how the insurance industry just released a report saying the Baucus vapor 'bill' would cause much higher insurance costs? Here's the Obama administration's response:
Translation: DISSENT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!!White House and Senate officials hinted at the possibility of legislative payback for releasing a report Democrats described as deeply flawed and self-serving. At the very least, officials said, it will help Democrats close ranks behind the Finance Committee bill, which had come under fire from the progressives as too moderate.
They also predicted liberal lawmakers will go harder after the insurers, perhaps by proposing a cap on premiums or solidifying support for the government insurance plan.
“They have opened themselves up,” said a senior Senate Democratic aide. “It is an incredibly stupid strategic blunder. If you are going to fire a shot like this, you fire a good shot.”
In reality, what we're looking at with government-controlled health care is that the ultimate worst possible pre-existing condition is actually...good health. It's a dizzying turn of events, and a perfect example of unintended consequences of liberalism.
So, there's a great deal of speculation on what exactly will happen next. Keep coming back here, and stay up to date. And send this information to everyone you know - it is now crunch time, and ignorance will be extremely costly.
There's my two cents.
