As much as Newt has angered me on a couple key issues over the past year or so, he's dead on here. We must make sure that we are clear: Obama's policies aren't necessarily on a par with the same blatant evil as the Nazis or the others he mentioned...but if he implements his world view it will be every bit as much of a change to the foundational understanding of America as if we'd lost WWII.
That's what the Tea Partiers and conservatives are fighting against. We realize that America was founded upon individual responsibility and freedom, and that an all-powerful government is the antithesis of that foundation. We believe that we are much more qualified to make decisions on our own medical care, where we live, what we eat, what we drive, and so on, than some faceless bureaucrat living thousands of miles away in the Central Government is.
Barack Obama doesn't. He believes that an all-powerful Central Government (i.e. Nanny State) is much better off making those decisions for you.
That's the fundamental change that Barack Obama promised, and the fundamental change he's attempting to deliver. America doesn't want it, whether out of a true understanding of this change or through a simple gut feeling. But, with radical Leftist Democrats in charge of essentially all components of government right now, they're making an all-out blitz to take over as much as possible before they get summarily thrown out of office this November. This is why we need to not only throw out these Dems, but to make sure they are replaced by people who understand the fundamental change Obama is making, and who are courageous enough to push back that change, restoring instead the Foundations of America.
Short of that, America will be lost, even with Republicans in charge. Elections have consequences, and some of those last longer than others. How long the consequences of the 2008 election last is going to be largely dependent upon the 2010 election. Gear up.
There's my two cents.
