President Obama and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper just started their joint news conference, the first such dual podium event for the new president.Nice. Very classy. The media is giving him a total pass, of course, and offered this lame excuse on their Obamessiah's behalf:The newness is showing - the president began his remarks with, "It's a great pleasure to be here in Iowa - Ottawa."
Flubbing the name of a location has happened to many politicians, and has happened to the president before.I seem to recall quite a fervor whenever Bush made such a flub...there couldn't possibly be a double standard, could there?
Gateway Pundit reminds us of the Bumbler-in-Chief's whirlwind tour of all 57 states, and Ace of Spades offers this little nugget:
For the record, this really isn't a big deal, and it really does happen all the time (for example, McCain once talked about an oil pipeline from Alaska to the 'lower 40' states). What is interesting is to note the media double standard that is at play here. But as silly school girl Kathleen Parker tells us, Obama is preternaturally calm and unflappable. Since he never gets nervous, one can only surmise he's an idiot (at least that's how Bush would be portrayed).
Ummm...Obama just thanked the Canadians who came to the US to campaign for him. How many donated money to the cause Barack? Jebus what an idiot.
Get used to it...but never forget it or willingly accept it!
There's my two cents.
