The Secret's Out

I think this Rasmussen poll reveals a lot:

Sixty percent (60%) of U.S. voters say the economic stimulus plan that is emerging from Congress is mostly what Democrats want rather than a truly bipartisan product.

Twenty-five percent (25%) think the plan now pegged at $789 billion is a bipartisan effort, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Fifteen percent (15%) are not sure.

Eighty percent (80%) of Republicans say the stimulus is mostly a Democratic plan, while Democrats themselves are evenly divided on the question. Sixty-two percent (62%) of unaffiliated voters say it's mostly what Democrats want, while 22% characterize the plan as bipartisan.

By a huge margin, people of all political persuasions realize this bill is precisely what it is: a Democrat wish list of paybacks, bonuses, pet projects, and constituency buy-offs.  This detail at the end of the article, however, is still disturbing:

Most voters (55%) believe President Obama has made about the right amount of effort to get Republicans involved in the recovery plan, while six percent (6%) say he's done too much to get their participation. Thirty-four percent (34%) say the president has made too little effort to involve GOP congressmen in the discussions.

What I take from this is that Obama's willing propagandists (i.e. the mainstream media) are doing a superb job of covering for him.  Just yesterday I documented Obama's outright hypocrisy in pledging to stop legislating from behind closed doors while simultaneously locking out Republicans from where decisions are being made.  If the bulk of the American public knew of this, I'm convinced that 55% would be far, far less.  This is the danger of a biased media.

That's why the grass roots and new media are so critical at this time in our country's life...we simply cannot trust the mainstream media to do its job anymore, so we have to turn to alternative sources like blogs, the Internet, and talk radio.  The mainstream media have voluntarily given control of their microphones and cameras to their Obamessiah, and refuse to think or act in any way that might disparage him, even if it means slanting, omitting, or lying.

Congratulations, America!  We now have the same kind of state-run media that exists in countries like China and Russia.  Though it came about through volunteerism rather than force, the result is still the same.  What's coming next?  Secret police?  Oh, wait, the Obamessiah has already announced the framework of that plan...

There's my two cents.
