Ben And Jim

Here are some great quotes from two giants of American history (via Patriot Post):

"Here comes the orator! With his flood of words, and his drop of reason."
-- Benjamin Franklin --

Wow, I didn't realize he knew Barack Obama...!  Although, to be fair, I'm not sure Obama has even that much reason in his words.

"The ordaining of laws in favor of one part of the nation, to the prejudice and oppression of another, is certainly the most erroneous and mistaken policy. An equal dispensation of protection, rights, privileges, and advantages, is what every part is entitled to, and ought to enjoy."
-- Benjamin Franklin --

In other words, socialism is bad news.  Ironically, it's unfair in the name of 'fairness'.  How did he know about Barack Obama so many years ago...?

"The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite."
-- James Madison --

Well, looky there!  Madison thought that the federal government should be limited rather than expansive and all-powerful.  Once again, how did he know clear back at the founding of America that Barack Obama was coming...?

It's amazing what you can learn by paying attention to the Founders.

There's my two cents.
