It's A Tea Party!

Wikipedia:

The Boston Tea Party was a direct action protest by colonists in Boston, a town in the British colony of Massachusetts, against the British government. On December 16, 1773, after officials in Boston refused to return three shiploads of taxed tea to Britain, a group of colonists boarded the ships and destroyed the tea by throwing it into Boston Harbor. The incident remains an iconic event of American history, and has often been referenced in other political protests.

The Tea Party was the culmination of a resistance movement throughout British America against the Tea Act, which had been passed by the British Parliament in 1773. Colonists objected to the Tea Act for a variety of reasons, especially because they believed that it violated their constitutional right to be taxed only by their own elected representatives. Protestors had successfully prevented the unloading of taxed tea in three other colonies, but in Boston, embattled Royal Governor Thomas Hutchinson refused to allow the tea to be returned to Britain. He apparently did not expect that the protestors would choose to destroy the tea rather than concede the authority of a legislature in which they were not directly represented.

The Boston Tea Party was a key event in the growth of the American Revolution.
You almost certainly haven't heard of it -- unless you're plugged into blogs and the new media -- but there have been 'tea parties' all over the country every few days for the past few weeks. Some have drawn crowds of several thousand people, all of whom are angry at Obama's government overstepping and taxation policies.

But you ain't seen nothin' yet.

On April 15th, there will be a nation-wide coordinated protest by thousands of Americans who are tired of Obama's attempts to socialize this nation. There will be 'tea parties' all over the country, so if you're angry about what Obama and his radical Leftist policies have done to this country, you may want to consider checking out a party near you. These are, of course,
peaceful protests intended to make the point that Americans have had enough of Obama's excessive government expansion, taxation, and out-of-control spending. There will be a ton of coverage by big-name bloggers and new media organizations, and it is likely that even the mainstream press will grudgingly pick up on this due to the volume of the crowds. We'll see.

Anyway, the home page for the Kansas City party is here. The Missouri party page is here. The Kansas party page is here. Other states' pages can be located here.

For the locals in KC, if you're wondering what you can do, the answer is simple: spread the word. From the KC page:
The questions have been coming in about how to help. Here is your chance, the answers are below. Click on the blue links and download the adobe .pdf flyer files and business card file. Color Flyer Here, Black and White Flyer Here and a template for Business Card Template Here. Free ”downloadable” signs set up so you can take them to a local copy shop and print inexpensive 11″ x 17″ color copies on cardstock Here.
See the website for more details, but the primary idea is to spread the word. The key here is saturation.

Obama has made war on the foundation of America, and the things that made it great. This is a great chance to express our anger at his actions in a constructive and powerful way. Let's see if we can drive the point home with numbers that are too big to ignore.

There's my two cents.
