More On The Flyby

Here are some videos of the horrendously irresponsible and foolish photo op Obama approved yesterday:

Hot Air

AoS

What in the world were they thinking?!

Not surprisingly, the White House and the media are desperately trying to spin the responsibility for this onto someone -- ANYONE -- else. They tried the Pentagon first, then the FAA. Obama was reportedly 'furious' at what happened. Of course, we then see this:
White House Military Office director Louis Caldera issued a brief statement.

“Last week, I approved a mission over New York. I take responsibility for that decision,” he said. “While federal authorities took the proper steps to notify state and local authorities in New York and New Jersey, its clear that the mission created confusion and disruption. I apologize and take responsibility for any distress that flight caused.”…

Is Caldera telling the truth, or is he simply taking the bullet? Does it really matter?

Best commentary of the event:
Confidential sources close to the White House have confirmed that President Obama was indeed on Air Force One today as it attempted to land in New York, but the flight was turned away three times by ground fire originating from Bank of America shareholders.
This was a terrible idea with terrible execution. If we didn't know better, we might begin to question both The One's judgment and his ability to lead on such matters. It's a good thing he was elected on his long experience and strong defense policies, or this might be a sign of trouble for a real attack...oh, wait, no, he was elected despite his lack of experience and strong defense policies. Hmmm...

There's my two cents.
