Those 'Torture' Memos

Barack Obama has ordered the declassification of some of the 'torture' memos from the Gitmo detainees, presumably to feed the sharks who are still desperately trying to throw Bush in jail for something. While it was a controversial move, it really didn't to anything to help the case against Bush. In fact, an objective reading actually supports the Bush administration's actions.

Unfortunately, they also help America's enemies, broadcasting many of the interrogation techniques used to gain information from detainees. Listen to Former CIA Director Michael Hayden explain why this was such a bad idea:

So, not only is this another one of those perpetuated lies, but it's also one that is very, very dangerous to America.

Former Vice President Dick Cheney ups the ante even further:

Yeah, you know, if you're going to air the dirty laundry, you might as well air the clean laundry, too, right? Ace of Spades offers this accolade to Cheney following the quote:

“I formally asked that they be declassified now. I haven't announced this up until now, I haven't talked about it, but I know specifically of reports that I read, that I saw that lay out what we learned through the interrogation process and what the consequences were for the country.”

So many layers of awesome.

Will Obama do it and risk people thinking, "maybe this wasn't such a bad idea after all". If they don't do it, then the argument becomes, "there must be something so valuable they can't talk about it". Which again means, it worked.

It seems all the Obama administration can do is ignore this or they better find some contemporaneous memos that say, "this isn't doing any good".

Either way, well played by the Dark Lord and Master.
Well played is right!

All this demonstrates handily why Democrats suck on national security.

There's my two cents.
