Confirmed: NYT Spikes Damaging Obama/ACORN Story Before Election

Not that this is any big surprise or anything, but it's still informative for future reference:
The New York Times confirmed yesterday that it killed a story in October that would have shown a close link between ACORN, Project Vote and the Obama campaign. The NY Times killed the investigation before the election that would have shown that Barack Obama’s campaign and the Far Left ACORN Organization were guilty of technical violations of campaign finance law.

New York Times
Public Editor Clark Hoyt said this about the report and investigation:
The charge, amplified by Bill O’Reilly on Fox News in April and reverberating around the conservative blogosphere, is about the most damning allegation that can be made against a news organization. If true, it would mean that Times editors, whose job is to report the facts without fear or favor, were so lacking in integrity that they withheld an important story in order to influence the election.
True.
It would show a serious lack of integrity by the news organization if they were to withhold information from the public before the election.

And, it looks like that is exactly what they did.
Power Line dissected the Sunday article by Public Editor Clark Hoyt and concluded that his report doesn't rebut the charges that the Times had spiked the story, they support it.

The radical ACORN organization worked closely with the Obama campaign during the election this past year although the community organizing group was not open about this. The photo below was scrubbed from the ACORN website before the election:

One of Barack Obama's first big "community organizer" jobs involved ACORN in 1992. Obama also trained ACORN employees. He represented ACORN in court. Obama worked with and protested with ACORN. His campaign donated $800,000 to ACORN this year for voter registration efforts.
And, ACORN even canvassed for Obama in 2008.

The American Spectator has more on the crimes.

Also, yesterday NY Times' columnist Maureen Dowd admitted that she was guilty of plagiarism.
This isn't shaping up to be a very good week for the Old Gray Lady.

UPDATE: Founding Bloggers adds this: "Someone should hire SEIU thugs to bus around angry rent-a-mobs to the homes of the New York Times editorial and management executives."
So...remember this when you hear about Democrat 'integrity' or 'transparency', or when reading anything in the New York Times.

There's my two cents.
