The Obamessiah And Iraq

Watch this first:

Right. Obama has been opposed to the war from the very beginning. He said it often and loudly. He campaigned on it. He bragged about it. Now that Iraq has had several free, peaceful, and successful elections -- the end result of the very military measures that he opposed from before they began -- here's what he says:

US President Barack Obama has praised Iraq's provincial elections as an "important step forward" for the future of the country.

"This important step forward should continue the process of Iraqis taking responsibility for their future," Mr Obama said in a statement after millions of Iraqis went to the polls to elect councils in 14 or Iraq's 18 provinces.

Security for the country's first ballot since 2005 was extremely tight, with Iraqi police and military deployed in force, and Mr Obama praised the technical assistance by the United Nations and other organisations to Iraq's electoral commission, which he said "performed professionally under difficult circumstances."

Saturday's election (local time) is seen as a key test of Iraq's steadily improving security and political system as Mr Obama seeks a withdrawal from the country in order to shift more troops to Afghanistan.
On top of this, he has the sheer unmitigated gall to thank the U.N. rather than the U.S. military for bringing about the current circumstances!

There are no words to describe the ugly slap in the face that this is to our armed forces who bled, died, and sacrificed to bring freedom to tens of millions of Iraqis.

Just read this, remember it, and take it to heart when the next election rolls around.

There's my two cents.
