What's he talking about? Why, closing down Gitmo, of course. Remember, President Obama promised to do that. He hasn't quite figured out what to do with the terrorists currently being held there yet, though. Thus, the pressure from the GOP. Ace of Spades has more:
Yeah, you know, it's funny how a lot of Democrats insist that we close Gitmo, but also refuse to take those terrorists in their home states. Republicans refuse, too, but the difference is that most of them aren't advocating the closure of Gitmo.Boehner offers this list of the top ten most dangerous terrorists at Gitmo.
Vid of Democratic Rep. Schiff urging that terrorists be given the same due process rights our own lawful soldiers enjoy when court martialed -- "Nothing more, and nothing less."
And an add about releasing terrorists into their natural habitats -- densely populated urban areas with plenty of sympathetic community infrastructure to help them flourish in their profession of choice:
A stupid reporter doesn't get the difference between Gitmo detainees and German Nazis in WWII, so Rep. Hoekstra lays it out:
While you, me, and 99% of the rest of America fundamentally understands this, the liberals and the elites of this nation simply don't. That's why they're dangerous, and that's why they should never be allowed to control national security. No one in their right mind would even consider something as suicidally stupid as releasing these terrorists onto American soil...but that's exactly what Obama is seeking to do.
Now that I've got your attention, this should make you toss and turn at night, too:
Feel safe yet? This war is real, whether we want to acknowledge it or not. 9/11 wasn't too long ago, and most people in this country haven't forgotten it, either - the reaction to the recent Scare Force One flyby in New York is proof enough of that. Unfortunately for us, Obama and the Democrats currently in charge are experiencing some rather selective amnesia, and I'm afraid it's going to take more death and destruction before they'll join the rest of us in reality.
There's my two cents.
