It looks like one of the new leaders of the conservative movement in the Senate is catching some heat from his own party's leadership. Glenn Reynolds at Instapundit blogs about how Jim DeMint's willingness to buck certain traditions has also prompted private GOP warnings that "their tolerance has worn thin". DeMint declined comment on any warnings from his leadership, but "he did say it is up to McConnell and other GOP leaders to take up the mantle of reform if they do not want others to do so."
As Reynolds points out, this freshman Senator is doing what needs to be done simply because the leadership is failing to do it. Another reason DeMint should be praised, and heat should be brought to bear on McConnell, Lott, and the other Republican leaders to step up.
There's my two cents.
