Saturday's Events

Three Democrat primary events were held today, and Barack Obama swept them all - Louisiana, Washington (state), and Nebraska. He swept them big, too, with no less than a 21% margin of victory.

Is this another sign that Hillary's campaign is stumbling big time? She has certainly lost the label of 'inevitable', I think, but the Clinton machine is a formidable one. Much to their frustration, I'm sure, their normal tactics -- slash, burn, and slander -- seem to be having little effect on Obama. In fact, it appears to be having the opposite effect, rallying sympathetic Democrats to the challenger. With three more states under his belt, it seems that Obama has taken a bit of a commanding lead in the Democrat race. Given that the money keeps flooding into Obama's campaign, and given that he's been far more the class act so far, is this the beginning of the end for Hillary?

On the one hand, I'd say that's great - I think President Hillary could be just about the worst possible thing America could face. On the other hand, I just don't see any possible way McCain can beat Obama.

Huckabee won the Kansas caucuses on the Republican side; the Washington (state) and Louisiana primaries haven't been called for either Huck or McCain yet. The interesting thing to watch here is to see how many (if any)
of the remaining states McCain wins. Has the base finally rallied around a single candidate - anyone but McCain?

***UPDATE***
Louisiana has been awarded to Huckabee, but McCain squeezed out the win in Washington (state).
