I'm done watching the primary results coming in for the night. At this point, it looks like McCain is having his way, although Romney has looked good in some unexpected states.
Unless there are some major surprises once all the votes are tallied (which could happen), it looks like McCain will have the substantial lead that he hoped for, though it doesn't appear that anyone will be completely knocked out of the race.
Romney has pledged to stay in, and will take a look at exactly how many delegates he won today (remember, the key is not how many states a candidate wins, but how many delegates he wins) to decide how far he is willing to go.
The surprise of the night appears to be Huckabee, who did much better than expected.
If these indicators hold up, it would appear that McCain was able to carry most of the winner-take-all states, while Romney carried more of the states that awarded delegates on a percentage basis. Obviously, that helped McCain a great deal. We'll see how it all shakes out in the light of day tomorrow!
For all of you who got out in the nasty weather to vote - I applaud you! It's great to see that the overall voter turnout has been high yet again!
There's my two cents.
