D-Day Remembered

Today is the 64^th anniversary of the D-Day invasion of France, and is the day following the anniversary of Ronald Reagan's death. What better way to commemorate both events than to read Reagan's great speech on the 40^th Anniversary about the "Boys of Point du-Hoc", or watch it via a YouTube link.

In the face of the current crop of Presidential candidates, we would do well to pause and remember two aphorisms from President Reagan:

Above all, we must realize that no arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. It is a weapon our adversaries in today's world do not have.

And:

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.
