Quote: Tyranny For Your Own Good

Heavy-Handed Politics puts together two quotes to make an outstanding point:

"We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."
-- Hillary Clinton, June 28, 2004 --

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their consciences."
-- C.S. Lewis --

Even if Hillary loses, keep in mind the fact that she is speaking from the position of liberalism.  Barack Obama is every bit as likely to tax you into oblivion (for your own good, of course) as Clinton is, if not more so.  The point is that liberals are merciless in their oppression precisely because they think they're doing it for your own good.

Danger, Will Robinson!

There's my two cents.
