The Era Of Responsibility
One of the key passages (or, what I'm assuming was supposed to have been a key passage) in the Obamessiah's coronation speech on Tuesday was the whole schtick about him ushering in a new 'era of responsibility'. Truly, that sounds awesome. It's just what we need in this country. It's what I've been harping and chanting about throughout the entire existence of this blog - we have a serious lack of personal responsibility in this country, and it starts at the top. If Obama can persuade Americans to begin taking responsibility for themselves, then he will truly earn my gratitude. The question is: can he do it? His followers were clearly impressed by the powerful words, delivered in that deliciously sonoros baritone voice of his. They hung on every word. In fact, they were so enthralled with his message that they instantly took it to heart and left the Washington Mall looking spotless after they went home: Ah, yes, the era of responsibility. So much for the greenest inauguration in history. There's my two cents.
