Hudson Miracle Video

You've probably heard about that plane that sucked a flock of Canadian geese into its engines while taking off in New York last week. Due to some incredible and fast action, the pilots managed to ditch the plane in the Hudson River (rather than crashing down in the city somewhere), and every passenger was offloaded without serious injury. In case you didn't see any video, here's the whole thing:

There isn't anything for the first two minutes, but after that you see the plane splashing down on the left, and things progress from there.

These pilots were, by all accounts, true heroes. The only thing that marred the event (other than for the geese, of course) was that the survivors were surrounded by idiot reporters who were more concerned about getting their sound bites than taking care of the freezing and wet passengers with unimportant things like blankets or dry clothes. Shameful.

Otherwise, it was pretty amazing, and a wonderful change from the normal bad-news news cycle.

There's my two cents.
