Logo Oddities

Barack Obama promised to shut down missile defense, and he has largely carried through. While he's dismantling one of the most critical components of American national security, he's also giving it a facelift:

The Missile Defense Agency has unveiled a new logo this year, replacing their existing one:

This is the new one:

If that looks familiar, it should — because it appears to be based at least in part on Barack Obama’s campaign logo:

The irony here is that while the Obama administration clumsily attempts to politicize the MDA through logo homages, Obama has busily cut funds to the agency’s appropriations and spent most of the primary campaign pledging to kill missile-defense systems altogether. Obama felt there were better use of federal money. Apparently, though, copycat logo design was one of them.
This is, at best, a curious waste of taxpayer dollars. On the other hand, it makes me think he's adding his own signature to the destruction of this particularly potent and useful piece of American military superiority, just as a victorious flourish.

Another curious note...Gateway Pundit points out that this new logo looks strangely reminiscent of the Islamic star and crescent logo:

Hmmm...

Riddle me that one, Batman.

There's my two cents.
