On early Sunday morning Christian herders attacked Muslim villagers in Nigeria with machetes. 500 Muslims were slaughtered.
Villagers in central Nigeria buried dozens of bodies, including those of women and children, in a mass grave on Monday after attacks in which several hundred people were feared to have been killed.
Some of the bodies had been charred. Some had slash marks across their faces. One young victim was found to be scalped and few others were found with cut off hands and legs.
The Christian hackers shouted "God is Great!" before breaking into homes and hacking the Muslims to death. ... Media reported that Christian residents of the villages in Plateau state had been warned by phone text message, two days prior to the attack, so they could make good their escape before the exit points were sealed off.
Oh, wait...um...heh. Well, this is a bit embarrassing. I seem to have mistakenly switched around the religions in this story. It was actually Muslims that trapped, slaughtered, scalped, de-limbed, burned, and mutilated 500 Christians. I guess it's no big deal, then. After all, we know that Islam is the Religion of Peace; it's Christians who are the problem, you know.
