The Bridge Collapse, Despicable Politics, and Life Lessons

I'm sure you've heard about the tragic bridge collapse in Minneapolis. I won't rehash the news, but I would encourage you to reflect on three things. First, that Americans are good people. There are already numerous stories of people helping strangers to safety, even at great risk to themselves, and I'm sure many more will come out over the next few days and weeks. Keep these things in mind when you hear from the MSM and other America-haters about how evil and corrupt we are. It's simply not true, and the worst of times bring out the best in Americans.

Second, I find it particularly vile how left-wingers are already -- less than 24 hours after it happened -- trying to blame President Bush for this tragedy. The level of depravity that allows people to make such vicious accusations at such completely inappropriate times which are patently ridiculous is shocking.

Third, this tragedy shows yet again that life is fragile, and you should cherish each and every moment you have to spend with loved ones. Freak accidents like this are just another demonstration that we never know when our number is up, so we should make use of every moment with which we have been blessed. Keep that in mind, and please take a moment to pray for the families involved in this tragedy.

There's my two cents.
