Bush Warns Of Layoffs If Funding Not Approved

In response to the latest round of politicking by Congressional Democrats -- holding the defense spending bill hostage to a timeline for surrender -- the Bush administration has warned that layoffs of civilian employees and a reduction in operations at U.S. military bases will be implemented.

The Democrats are playing a purely political game here, only passing spending bills that include a requirement for surrender in Iraq. Bush, however, is holding his ground, and will likely win this round, too.

It is completely mind-boggling how the Democrats are so invested in the defeat and surrender of the American military in Iraq that they are fighting for it even in the face of victory.

There's my two cents.
