If you're a long-time reader of my blog, you know that I think Islam is one of the biggest dangers America faces, not only from jihadists and radical Muslims, but also from those who enable them.
CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) is supposedly a civil rights group that protects the rights of Muslims. In reality, it's almost certainly a front group for terrorism itself. Currently a partner of indicted Holy Land Foundation for funneling millions of dollars to Hamas, a known terrorist group, CAIR has plenty of troubles of its own. Previous reports revealed that three highly-placed officers of CAIR have been the subject of terrorism investigations. A recent check by WorldNet Daily, however, shows a much more systemic problem: a total of 14 CAIR officials have now been linked to terror investigations.

So why should you care about this?
A couple of reasons. First, CAIR and other related groups have publicly stated that their intention is to take down America from within, replacing our system of government with an Islamic state run according to Sharia law. Second, groups like CAIR have been successful in stifling many who speak out in opposition to them through methods like intimidation, harassment, and bogus legal challenges. This has paved the way for Islam to filter into America quickly and quietly. Don't believe me? Just ask Mark Steyn, Michael Savage, or Robert Spencer, who have all been recently attacked by CAIR or other Islamic enabling groups.
These guys are the big boys, and will almost certainly win their court cases, but normal Americans like you and me don't have the resources these guys do. What happens if we run afoul of CAIR or some other Muslim lobbyist group?
The problem here is how CAIR operates - anyone who doesn't bow down to their wishes (i.e. radical Islam) gets silenced. Period. Does that sound like America to you? Combine that with the stated goal of taking over America from within, and this is a huge problem that should concern every American.
We cannot allow groups like this to bully their way into every day American life. We need to understand that -- whether we think we are or not -- we're in a war against radical Islam, and these enablers are not on our side.
There's my two cents.
