Hate Crimes Not There, Especially Against Islam

Along with hate crimes in general, the supposed swell of hate crimes against Muslims (i.e. Islamophobia) is a myth.

IBD posts a report that by far the biggest victim of 'hate crimes' is Jews:


This information was taken from a recent FBI report, and reveals the lie of groups like CAIR, which have been crying since 9/11 about a rise in 'Islamophobia'. In fact, the data shows that most of the 'hate crimes' perpetrated against Muslims are victimless crimes, like trampling a flower bed or finding a Koran in the toilet. IBD reports:

In 2006, a whopping 66% of religiously motivated attacks were on Jews, while just 11% targeted Muslims, even though the Jewish and Muslim populations are similar in size. Catholics and Protestants, who together account for 9% of victims, are subject to almost as much abuse as Muslims in this country.

Last year's anti-Islamic hate crimes totaled 156. While just one hate crime is one too many, that's a 68% drop from 2001.

It's plain that CAIR, which claims to be the "Muslim NAACP," has been hyping tensions.

Why should you care? Because there is a tremendous amount of pressure from left-wing lobbyist groups (like CAIR) and the MSM to give Muslims preferential treatment, and to avoid offending them. Part of the justification for that mentality is that they are an abused people, suffering from a multitude of hate crimes as part of an evil American backlash.

That's simply not true. This is America, where we are tolerant and generous, even of people who have shown repeated tendencies of real hate and violence. Don't buy the hype, and don't allow anyone to claim 'Islamophobia'.
