Pope Warns Against Global Warming Fanatics

Pope Benedict is planning to make a statement about global warming in a speech on January 1st, calling out the fanatics who have substituted ideology for science in the search for answers on climate change:
The leader of more than a billion Roman Catholics suggested that fears over man-made emissions melting the ice caps and causing a wave of unprecedented disasters were nothing more than scare-mongering.

The German-born Pontiff said that while some concerns may be valid it was vital that the international community based its policies on science rather than the dogma of the environmentalist movement.
While some will surely criticize his remarks as anti-science, his stance is just the opposite. He is saying that global warming policy should be based on scientific fact, not the lunatic theology that has become 'global warming'.

I couldn't put it better myself! It's good to hear someone take a sane approach to the issue, and to address the fact that this has become a religion to some people.

There's my two cents.
