More (Lack Of) Progress On The Border Fence

Michelle Malkin continues to report on the woes of the U.S.-Mexico border fence. The latest delays are caused by Mexico objecting because it could "block the free migration of birds, insects, and pollen".

You've got to be kidding me!

Even worse, Republican and Democrat lawmakers have played along, and also cited "green" arguments to stop construction! Fortunately, there is a rebellion going on in the Republican National Committee, where 47 of the 168 members have signed a resolution that "unequivocally opposes the Bush-backed policy that would grant legal residency to millions of illegal aliens."

Let's hope that number climbs, and the American public continues to watch out for these slimy politicians doing their best to ignore what the American people want.

In other illegal immigration news, OneNewsNow.com reports that Senator Arlen Specter (one of the shameful Republican amnesty crowd) is proposing a new immigration reform bill that would provide essentially the same amnesty that was resoundingly rejected earlier this summer. The controversial Z-visa program is no longer a part of it, but it includes massive chain migration that would allow millions into the country based on family ties rather than any potential value to the country.

Another problem that is again being exploited is the citizenship-for-sale program. Check out Michelle Malkin's page for the details. The summary is that wealthy foreign investors can utilize a law signed in 1990 allowing them to obtain a green card by 'investing' $500,000-1,000,000 in commercial ventures.

It's as Michelle Malkin has predicted over and over: they couldn't get 'comprehensive' immigration pushed through, so they're attempting to get amnesty one piece at a time.

We'll keep watching, and when the time comes again, Americans will rise up and stop it again.

There's my two cents.
