Giving the Democrat response to President Bush's State of the Union speech tonight was Kansas Governor Kathleen Sibelius.

Choosing Sibelius as the deliverer of the response was a bad move on a purely aesthetic basis - Sibelius's comments could be packaged and sold as a cure for insomnia. She hardly blinked and she spoke in a plodding monotone with facial expressions that were even less interesting. I don't even recall what she said, other than some drivel about an 'American majority'. I'm not going to waste time looking at the transcript - if she said anything useful, I'll hear about it tomorrow and pass it along to you then.
