Since I lamented the college football bowl season a few days ago, I guess I should follow up. KU proved they were the real deal by beating (24-21) Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl. It was a good game to watch, with lots of momentum swings and a pretty decent finish - just what a bowl game should be. Congrats, Jayhawks, on a great season and a great win! May you lose to KSU next year...! ;)
The BCS Championship game was last night, and LSU beat Ohio State 38-24. *snore* I didn't watch it, didn't care. It was two teams that no one west of the Mississippi (outside of Louisana) cared about, and we now have a national 'champion' who got beat twice. What a joke. The BCS has so much potential to actually crown a real champion, and due to politics ( i.e. the university presidents) it's just not happening. Too bad.
So, now football fans are left with the NFL, which is not lacking. In case you missed it, the New England Patriots (love 'em or hate 'em) are an undefeated 16-0, and will make history if they continue their juggernaut-ish ways to a Super Bowl victory.
Enjoy the end of another fun football season!
