Fred Thompson

Fred Thompson has run a bit of an unconventional campaign. For starters, he announced his candidacy on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno rather than in a normal press conference. The reason he gave was that he felt he would reach more people that way. Thompson seems to be trying to skip over the MSM whenever possible, reaching out directly to the American people.

One example of that effort is his 17-minute video posted online that contains a ton of information on his platform, his goals, and his philosophy. It was directed to the voters of Iowa (before the caucuses), but it's still a great snapshot for everyone of what a Thompson presidency would look like. If you want to know what Fred Thompson is all about, go check it out. It's worth a few minutes of your time to be informed:

His website also clearly specifies his plans and stances on all of the major issues facing America today, so it is quite plain to see where he stands on things (unlike some of the Democrat candidates, who change their tune on a whim), as well as why he stands there.

Of the major Republican candidates, Thompson is probably the closest thing to an actual conservative that we're going to get this time around, so if things like national security, lower taxes, smaller government, and immigration enforcement matter to you, you need to look into Thompson.

There's my two cents.
