Global Warming Shocker, Around The World, Blogs

Global Warming Door Closing?
In an incredible turn of events, New York Times columnist John Tierney -- until now, a fervent Gore acolyte -- blasted global warming, from hurricanes to ice caps to weather trends, illuminating the real facts and revealing exactly how false the claims of Gore and other environmentalist wackos are.  It's almost unbelievable, but the truth has power.  All the more reason for people to refuse to give in on stupid legislation, more regulation, and higher expenses in the name of global warming.

Pakistan delays election
Pakistan has delayed its general election by 6 weeks to February 18 due to the assassination of Benazir Bhutto.  Some of the main opposition parties are objecting, fearing a delay will work against them.  The killing of the charismatic opposition leader has fuelled doubts about stability and the transition to democratic rule in nuclear-armed Pakistan, a key ally in the U.S. anti-terrorism drive.  This place needs to get back to democracy, and get stable again before terrorists can cause any more chaos there.  It's no laughing matter to have complete upheaval in a nuclear-armed nation.

North Korea
The United States will hold North Korea to its pledge to account for its nuclear programs, the State Department said on Wednesday as Pyongyang remained silent after failing to meet a year-end deadline to give a full accounting of its nuclear arms program.  The December 31 deadline was set under a disarmament-for-aid deal with major regional powers and the United States in which North Korea agreed to provide a full declaration of its atomic facilities and materials to answer U.S. suspicions that it has a clandestine operation to enrich uranium for weapons.  What is making North Korea suddenly go back on their word?  Could it be the recent fraudulent NIE about Iran?  If such a backlash prevented the U.S. from taking a hard line against Iran, wouldn't it make sense that North Korea might play the same games?  That report -- purely politically motivated, not based on facts -- is going to cause a lot of damage, and we may not know how much for years.

Conservative blogs up, liberal blogs down
Liberal blogs such as Daily Kos, Crooks and Liars, Eschaton/Atrios, Fire Dog Lake, and Hullabaloo/Digby, all showed a decreased readership while conservative blogs, such as Instapundit, Michelle Malkin, Hot Air, Red State and Right Wing News, all increased their readership.  Fire Dog Lake took the biggest hit with a 28% decrease and the second biggest decrease was for Eschaton with a 18% decrease in visits.  The biggest gains for conservative blogs was Hot Air with a 34% increase and Michelle Malkin with a 30% increase.  It has taken years for conservative blogs to catch up with technology of the world wide web but the trends are starting to show that conservative blogs are on the rise and liberal blogs are stagnating or becoming less popular.  Perhaps people are tired of the messages on the liberal blogs, the constant whining and complaining and just possibly people are tired of hearing how horrible America is and starting to tune them out.  The general acknowledgment of the fact that the MSM has a definite liberal bias is forcing truth-seekers and fact-seekers to look for alternatives, and blogs are providing that alternative.  And, no one wants to listen to hate-filled whiners...and that's all those liberal bloggers are.

There's my two cents.
