Ahmadinejad Regrets Not Getting To Desecrate WTC Site

It was bad enough to allow Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to speak at Columbia University, but he also wanted to visit Ground Zero. Some people thought it was grossly inappropriate for a tyrant who is a known sponsor of worldwide terrorism and current attacks on American soldiers to be allowed access to the site. Others said those people were overreacting or being mean, or that perhaps Ahmadinejad was just misunderstood. Regardless, the first group prevailed, and the visit was not allowed.

Turns out they were right.

Michelle Malkin reports on a statement made by Ahmadinejad himself:
So I decided to visit there this year to pay my respect to the casualties and convey my sympathy to the families. I also wanted to raise several questions and express my views. I wanted to say that in my opinion, this incident is the result of the mismanagement of the world, and the result of the inhuman management of the world. Why did such an incident take place? We need to get to the root causes. We don’t want them to turn this incident, in 20 years’ time, into another false idol like the Holocaust, which they would use as a pretext to kill peoples, and prevent anybody from opening this [Pandora’s] box and examining what really happened in this incident. They might turn 9/11 into something sacred, and whoever does not accept it would be considered an infidel, whereas whoever accepts it would have to accept all the ensuing crimes.
This guy rolls a whole lot of evil in this short statement. First, he essentially accuses America of causing the hate and attacks perpetrated against us. That sentiment is common around the world, though it is patently false and ludicrously illogical. We were being attacked decades ago by these same radical jihadists; it is American power, success, and freedom they hate and wish to destroy. They would attack -- and have attacked -- America simply for who and what we are, not as the result of any particular actions.

Second, he denies the Holocaust. He is clearly attempting to re-write history to something he prefers more, covering up one of the biggest evils ever perpetrated in the world in the process.

Third, he expresses concern that Americans might rally around the events of 9/11 to fight against those who conducted it - radical Islamists like himself.

There was a very good reason to keep this psycho away from Ground Zero, and he has now confirmed it with his own words. He is who he is, and we should believe what he says about himself and his intentions. The next time he threatens to destroy Israel and America, don't you think maybe we should believe him...and stop him?

There's my two cents.
