Credit For Hanging In There

Hugh Hewitt gives credit where credit is due. If we are past the danger point of a premature withdrawal (i.e. legislating a defeat where military victory exists) -- and he seems to think we are, at least temporarily -- it is the result of two groups of people. First, the military, who have done the heavy lifting and hard sacrifice of winning the day on the battlefield. Also, credit should go to President Bush and the Congressional Republicans for not defecting (at least, not too many of them) when the pressure was on earlier this year, giving the troops time to turn things around.

He finishes with the following:
Undenounced by the Democrats who would be Commander-in-Chief, the "General Betray Us" ad will remind voters this year and next that when the snarling left felt it was necessary to smear a senior commander esteemed for his leadership, courage and his intellect, Senators Clinton and Obama said nothing in his defense --a foreshadowing of how they would "lead" the military if elected to replace George Bush in November, 2008.
Some very good points to keep in mind.

There's my two cents.
