Ending The War

The New York Times runs an article saying that the American people trust military commanders to successfully end the war, not Bush or Congress. Well, how about that? Bush is listening to his commanders on the ground (and has been all along), so he's got his head screwed on straight. What about Congress, especially the Democrat opposition leaders?

They're shamefully, woefully, politically driven.

Keep in mind the chain of events: earlier this year, the Senate unanimously approved Petraeus and the surge as the 'change of course' that they had been whining about for years. They required the White House to issue a report on the progress of the surge. Petraeus has used the surge to turn the tide in the war. Petraeus and Crocker (the top U.S. military and diplomatic men in Iraq) are now back to provide the required progress report.

And the Democrats (prodded by their far-left anti-war wacko handlers) are calling these two great men liars (before even listening to what they have to say), accusing them of being 'mouthpieces' for the White House.

Do you see the bald-faced arrogance, hypocrisy, and vile politicking going on here?

This should anger you a great deal. Not only are they slandering these two men dedicated to protecting America and the people of Iraq, but they are assuming themselves to be the best judges of the situation. Who knows more about winning the war in Iraq, a 4-star general with a lifetime of experience and proven ability, or a handful of blow-hard law-makers who have maybe -- MAYBE -- visited Iraq a couple times in the past few years?

The Democrat party has gone off the deep end, and is now so far gone that they cannot possibly stomach the thought (much less support it) of a victorious America. These vicious anti-American actions need to be remembered as Americans go to the polls. Republicans need to mercilessly remind the American public of exactly who these shameful people are.

Kudos to Duncan Hunter, a Republican (and presidential candidate) on the panel for publicly stating that the panel needs to recognize Petraeus represents the very best of military tradition, and that he will give a professional and unbiased report. A single ray of sanity in the hatred and slander being spewed forth.

There's my two cents.
