Just a short recap on the bi-partisan leadership during the war, including the latest developments:
Bush, Republicans, and Democrats (grudgingly) --> we were attacked, let's go get 'em
Democrats --> the war is going badly, we need a timetable for withdrawal
Bush --> it's not going that badly, let's stay the course because we need to win
Democrats --> change course, we need a timetable for withdrawal
Bush --> stay the course, no timetable
Democrats --> change course, we need a timetable for withdrawal
Bush --> stay the course, no timetable
Democrats --> change course, we need a timetable for withdrawal
Bush --> let's do the surge, no timetable for withdrawal
Democrats --> the surge is failing, we need a timetable for withdrawal
Bush --> let's let the surge start before calling it a failure, then we'll figure out a withdrawal
Democrats --> the surge has failed, we need a timetable for withdrawal
Petraeus --> the surge is working, here's a timetable for withdrawal based on our success
Democrats --> your timetable is not good enough
Who is it again that is blindly following the same course, disregarding the facts, and refusing to change tactics when necessary? The Democrats, who are flip-flopping on the war (and the surge) like a spineless chicken. They've only been consistent on one thing all along: American surrender and defeat.
There's my two cents.
