Democrats Feed On Their Victims

Conservative Thoughts posts an opinion piece by Stanford Matthews about how the Democrat party feeds on its own victims, pitting one set against another on a regular basis.

He argues that because the Democrat party is made up largely of ambiguous and constantly changing groups of people, they are forced to constantly shift their loyalties. Because there is no true leadership in the party, those in positions of leadership have begun sacrificing one victim subset to another depending on the issue. The latest example is SCHIP, where smokers are required to fund the entire bloated mess of legislation that is 'for the children.'

How do they reconcile this behavior? Says Matthews:
A conclusion you may draw is that circumstances have become so desperate for the Democratic party to cause them to expose the insincerity of parading victims in public in an attempt to embarrass the opposition. From MoveOn’s misfire of insulting the military, to pandering surrender in Iraq as a campaign strategy, to poverty tours and re-proposing failed health care legislation the Democratic party has accomplished nothing with their 100 hour agenda, NOT draining the swamp or participating in their own slogan of a new direction for America. With nothing left but to admit their ineptitude, they opt for pitting one set of victims against another.
Matthews has hit the nail on the head. Robbing Peter to pay Paul has never been right for America (or good policy). It may work in the short-term, but in the long run it will reveal its own bankruptcy. Since this is all the current Democrat leaders have to play with, their own ethical and policy bankruptcy is being increasingly revealed with each major issue that comes up and goes down (surrendering in Iraq, amnesy for illegal aliens, socialized health care, ethics reform, etc.).

It amazes me that normal, hard-working, good Democrat citizens would actually vote for these awful 'leaders.'

There's my two cents.
