Keep An Eye On Iran

This is no big surprise, but things are continuing to heat up in the direction of actual combat with Iran. General Petraeus continues to attribute American deaths in Iraq to Iranian efforts, Britain's Gordon Brown has said he would support U.S. airstrikes on Iran, and even former Sec. State (under Bill Clinton) Madeleine Albright refuses to rule out a war between Iran and the international community over nuclear disputes.

The most likely scenario is a surgical strike to take out Iran's nuclear capabilities (not an actual invasion), something similar to what Israel did with Syria's suspected nuclear facility a few weeks ago. At this point, it seems to be only a matter of time.

Unless, of course, a Democrat wins the White House in 2008 - then, Iran can do whatever (i.e. attack whomever) it wants without fear of any real response.

There's my two cents.
